San Luis Obispo Wedding Photographers | Intimate Weddings In San Luis Obispo

Megan and Mark are friends of mine. We often cross paths on the local mountain bike trails up above Cal Poly. Megan came to me a few weeks ago with the news that she and Mark were going to have a small, SUPER SMALL, ceremony up on East Cuesta Ridge. Another friend of ours, Kim, was going to officiate. This added even greater appeal as Kim married Michelle and I a few years ago. This time of year is jammed packed full of weddings and thankfully, Megan had no problem switching things around so I could capture the day. We decided on a Wednesday evening in October.

I woke up Wednesday morning to the sound of thunder and the flash of lightening. The rain pounded hard all morning long. I received a few emails from Megan, consisting of possible site changes but, I was all for doing it up high rain or shine. As the day rolled by, the pounding rain subsided and a light drizzle followed in its wake. We gathered in the jeep and headed up the dirt road above the 101.

Megan and Mark are having a celebratory party later this month. I thought a video might serve as an appropriate piece of proof that they actually did it :). I’ve never done a video of such length before and really enjoyed the process. This isn’t something I am pursuing but, it was a lot of fun to give it a shot (and I really love the small interviews 3 minutes or so in)!

Anyways, weddings come in many sizes and are as varied as each couple. I love the process of people falling in love and getting their relationship to the point of declaring that they intend to be with one another for the rest of their lives. And I’m proud to have been there to witness Megan and Mark’s wedding as their unique perspective is a simple reminder as to what a wedding is all about: a promise to love, honor and be devoted to your spouse for the rest of your life.
