This has been an incredible year. I’ve photographed large weddings, extra-huge mega weddings, a few out of state, a couple in different countries, many country farm house weddings, a handful of vineyard weddings and one or two completely intimate affairs.
Erin first emailed me after looking through my website. She asked if I would be interested in photographing her and Joe’s wedding at an estate in San Miguel. She described to me her desire to share with her family and a few friends the creations of one of her favorite chef’s, Shaun Behrens. Being one that really enjoys the kitchen, I was thrilled with the idea and very excited to photograph Chef Shaun doing what he does best.
After a warm October afternoon, a small breeze picked up and blew it’s way through the valley. Erin and Joe stood in front of their families and spoke their quiet vows signifying the start of their marriage. As the sun set up high on the ridge, everyone was very excited as plate after plate of delicious food and paired wines were brought to the table. As the dark blue night took over, toasts were made and laughter could be heard from across the vineyard. The distant glow of Paso Robles could be seen from beyond the farthest mountain ridge leaving an orange glow that separated land from sky. With belly’s full of the most delicious wines, fresh quail, paiaya, prawns, lamb, dolmas and a gorgeous deconstructed chocolate sundae, we sat back and took in the day. Erin and Joe were now married and we were all fortunate enough to have been a part of this special day.
Be sure to check out the little video (below) I put together as I was doing the photography throughout the day.
