Micha asked me, “what makes the best pictures?” I wasn’t expecting the question. It isn’t a hard question to answer really, especially since I’m usually photographing couples or weddings. Micha was referring to engagement pictures, so here is what I said, “the best way to get good pictures is for you two to be having fun, paying close attention to each other and for the three of us to have a little bit of an adventure….and for me to take A LOT of pictures!” Finding the right light, using the right equipment, nailing one of a thousand technical parts of taking a good picture is very important as well but, the most important element is an emotional moment. Odds are if two people are paying attention to each other, having fun and are on a bit of an adventure, the emotional moments will occur.
