Lorin and Lane were married last weekend at the Chateau Margene Vineyard 20 or so miles east of Paso Robles, California. It was a perfect end of summer day with 80 degree weather and small puffs of cotton ball clouds drifting across the landscape.
As I’m taking pictures throughout a wedding day, I’m constantly reminding myself to tell the story. I want the viewer to feel like they were there; to see all the small details that make up the experience of the day. Last Saturday, there was a lot to take in. As I walked from one part of the property to the other, there were different smells with every turn. Meats and cheeses being prepared by the chef, acrid agricultural waste as a harvest begins or ends. And a bit further still, diesel fumes and even more potent, flowers in bloom. I also saw varying shafts of sunlight or the diffused glow on the landscape as clouds made their way across the brilliant blue sky.
I hope the pictures below tell the story. Or I hope that they at least will show you what I saw and how special a day it was when Lorin and Lane were married.
