Karlie and Travis had an amazing Fess Parker Winery Wedding in Los Olivos, California. Los Olivos is located about an hour north of Santa Barbara and an hour south of San Luis Obispo. The winery has a huge yard and plenty of vineyards with gorgeous evening light. The vineyards are spotted with 100 year old oaks which make for a perfect setting. Karlie has an obvious tendency towards the 50’s which was evident in the small details that were a part of her wedding day. Karlie’s post modern approach towards the girls’ hair, dresses and overall look was mixed very well with a contemporary dark color pallet. I loved shooting this wedding as everywhere I turned there was another colorful item or special moment to capture. Karlie and Travis inspired me with their instructions that consisted of, “we trust you, we love what you do – just do your thing!”
Fess Parker Winery is a wonderful location for a wedding. Even with a mid-day temperature of 100 degrees, the oaks kept the wrath of the sun away and everyone was even more comfortable when the evening breeze kicked up. The flowers were by Mariah Floral Design and were truly unique. Mariah was out there on ladders during the hottest part of the day setting up and doing a wonderful job of smiling at every person that walked by. Paris Komie did a wonderful job with the girls’ makeup and styling. And Chris Baily from Bailey Entertainment had everyone dancing, laughing and crying (in a good way) all night long. Chris’ timing was impeccable and he is awesome to work with.
The guests, wedding party and everyone else invited had a wonderful time. The dance floor was never empty and there wasn’t a piece of cake leftover. The evening cooled off and it turned out to be a perfect day for a summer wedding. And most importantly, Karlie and Travis pulled together a truly unique celebration signifying the start of their marriage. I am so very happy for you two and I can’t wait to find out how your honeymoon trip went!
