Joe McNally was the last full time staff photographer for Life Magazine. He currently shoots for a variety of publications. If you have picked up a National Geographic in the last ten years, chances are you have seen some of Joe’s images spread across the pages. I was in NY a couple of months ago. We went to the top of the Empire State Building. I have climbed a few 14ers in Colorado but, I have never been that high up in a city before. The instant change in perspective is like a slap in the face. I felt like a fly buzzing around the biggest living room in the world. Sometimes shots just happen (which is what I love about wedding photography) but, many times, multiple attempts and a lot of hard work is required to get the image in your head into the camera body.
