As a professional photographer, I spend a lot of time being inspired. Inspired by the things I see, the places I’m able to visit, the food I eat and the people I chat with. These are obvious sources of inspiration. Often though, the unexpected sources that spark ideas come from small pieces that float in and out of my day. Yesterday ended with a strong wind coming straight from the Pacific and up through the valley. PJ and I were out riding our bikes and the breeze was moving the sand beneath our wheels. The sand flowed like water over the asphalt. This river of sand formed long shadows as the setting sun made it’s way towards the horizon. The wind shows itself often here.
As the sun set the next day, I was out photographing Alissa and James. These two are lovers in every sense. Their connection beams throughout their interaction, movement, touch, smiles and speech. As with the day previous, a chill set in as the foggy wind quickly approached from the coast. The breeze flowed soft but consistent and gave Alissa’s hair movement throughout the end of our session. The movement of her hair, the twinkle in their eyes, the smiles and laughter are all shown in these photographs. Alissa and James have a love that is growing more with each passing year. Maturing more every day with the flowing evening breeze that moves the sand beneath our feet and gently touches our cheeks with its crisp end of day kiss.
