Last night, the clouds blew in and the smell of rain was thick in the air. I woke to a soft drizzle and it seems that autumn may be quickly approaching.
I’m photographing a wedding this Friday and when I’m done, Michelle and I are taking off for a much needed overnighter with no PJ, good food and a boat ride to Catalina. I can’t wait to get out on the water and to spend quality time with my wife. Our schedules are such that we have to really work to spend time together during the summer months. Although I’m a total warm weather kind of guy, I do look forward to the slower pace of winter when I know the three of us will be home together most nights. And really, that is what family is all about, spending time with each other and having time to make jokes at each others expense. 🙂
Erica and Kurt were a terrific breath of fresh air this last Sunday. As soon as they started fooling around, I was captured by their sincere pleasure in being with each other and couldn’t help but get caught up in their joy. We started off in the Santa Barbara Courthouse before being kicked out. From there we headed off to the beach and played around until the sun went down over the cliffs. These two were a lot of fun to photograph and I can’t wait for their wedding next year.
Time to put down the pen (ahem…stop typing) and go for a wet bike ride. Swooosh!
