I’m heading off to Sedona, Arizona for what has become an annual way of ending my wedding season. This will be the fourth year in a row I’ve celebrated a successful season with a few of my mountain biking buddies on the Sedona trails. As each summer passes, I’m finding it more and more important to check out when I can in order to really recharge my creative energy. Stepping away from the office for even four days seems to really help keep things fresh, energy high and my motivation through the roof!
Before I shut down the computer, I do want to show a few images from Jessica and Lucas’ engagement session last night at Flying Caballos Ranch. If you’ve followed my blog at all, you’ll know that I have had some amazing experiences at this location. The farm house is just down the street from my home which gives me a certain sense of comfort when stepping on the property. I know the light, the wind and how the sun changes from season to season. I know how the mountains manipulate the last rays of light through the dried golden fields of summer and how it reflects a green tint as the new grass grows after the first winter rains. The sky and the dirt are mine. The same sky and dirt I walk on each day and look at before heading in each night.
And it was with this mindset that the three of us met up at the ranch and wandered around chatting and taking pictures. The conversation between strangers was eased by the love of where we were and the gorgeous central coast day that was coming to an end. The pictures were fun to make and the day stretched out as the fog stayed away and the winters sun did its best to levitate for as long as possible even from its southern position.
