It’s Christmas eve; it is late, very late, and outside my window there is a chill. And up and down the street I see the glow of reflected streetlamps off the damp roadway and sidewalks that line Johnson Ave. Michelle, PJ and I just returned from a month long journey through Vietnam where we met many people, had fantastic adventures as we explored the Vietnamese culture, cuisine, history and all the good and bad that comes with a country. PJ is 8 years old. Michelle and I have always tried to show him the world in our attempt at helping him become the best possible version of himself.
Tonight PJ watched Norad’s Santa Tracker with a belief that was so pure that it enveloped our house with a whimsical view on life that I never thought possible. I am thankful for today and how disbelief wasn’t even a consideration; our child’s fanciful perspective exists without the restrictions that comes with the knowledge of adulthood and I hope to emulate that or at least recognize that as tough decisions and difficulties are thrown my way. Tonight was a night to remember in our house.
I cannot wait to see what 2017 will bring our little family as I trust that goodness will be at the forefront of our experience!
